About us

Tamashii was established in 2013 and was the first restaurant to bring Japanese ramen to the residents of Astoria, New York. Now also serving Forest Hills, Tamashii has grown as a Japanese restaurant in NYC while staying rooted in the tradition that started its story. Today, ramen is one of the city’s most popular dishes and is offered in restaurants throughout New York; however, Tamashii continues to stand out among diners.

Miso Ramen is one of the restaurant's signature offerings. This soybean-based specialty comes with a selection of toppings. The menu also features Shio Ramen, made with mineral salt, and Shoyu Ramen, made with soy sauce. If you like spicy food, try the Tan-Tan Men, a sesame-based option that has captured the attention of New Yorkers. Beyond these bowls, the menu includes Japanese Curry, Vegetable Ramen, Donburi (Beef Bowl, Gyu-Don, and Katsu-Don), Takoyaki, Teriyaki, and Onigiri. Each guest receives a warm welcome from the team.
